Hi, I bought the zalman nc2000 cooler and in this 2 or 3 months of use with the Dell L501x the bottom of the laptop is starting to show some signs of wear.
I apologize for the poor quality pictures I don't have a good cam at the moment, but you get the idea of what I mean. The laptop has a silver brushed coating that is wearing off and just looks gray, more likely because it is constantly in contact with the aluminum surface of my cooler.
My question is, what solutions or alternatives do I have if I want to fix this, could I buy a spray can of similar color and just spray it, or get the whole plastic part? and which and where should I buy it?
Thanks in advance.

Laptops are going to get worn, scratched, scuffs etc. Before you replace the bottom or try to match paint,I would try a product called, Mothers plastic polish and restore. It works great on plastics and other surfaces also, and try to put a small barrier on the areas where your seeing signs of scuffing after, it will save alot of work in the long run.You may be to late to get out all the scuffs but it will make minor wear problems much less noticeable,at least it did for me.I also repaired my 1st m11x bottom it was horribly scratched up,the metal bottom of the alienware was easier to paint than plastic but todays metalic pc colors are hard to duplicate perfectly.Hope that helps good luck.
