Just out of curiosity, if I purchase an XPS 1330, and have overheating problems, hardware failures, etc. that are covered by the warranty, will they send me a Studio XPS 13, if the 1330 are being discontinued? :D
Are they more likely to send me a higher value laptop or a lower value one?

Has anyone had any good experiences with replacements?

They'll probably replace you with an M1330, refurbs will be around for a pretty long time even after they're discontinued.
They will always give you equal or better specs in a replacement laptop.

The XPS M1330 isn't being discontinued just yet, so they will most likely replace it with the same model. No harm in trying to ask for a Studio XPS 13 after just enough problems though~ But I still prefer the overall looks & design of the XPS line, compared to the Studio XPS line. I like my brushed aluminium palmrest :D

The m1330 line isn't discontinued it actually just had an update recently with NEW SSD drive options so i doubt it has anywhere to go.....for now.

I hope they replace the NVIDIA 8400M GS though. It's a stain on the otherwise beautiful m1330...
