hi, recently had my dell xps m1530 motherboard and graphics card replaced by dell,
Since then, whenever I turn it on I get a message saying " the charger is only a 65w and your battery requires a 90w charger ",
Just before my laptop died and I called dell to come and fix my laptop, I was getting the exact same inconsistent framerates in games like l4d, Where i would usually get around 60+ fps, I was now only getting extremely inconsistent 25+ max fps,
Is my charger the problem or could it be something else?
There also seems to be a slight lag between keyboard and mouse movements ???
thanks again

It's running in "reduced" mode because it cannot recognize the AC Adapter thats why you basicly can't do gaming. It can be a couple of things among:
- AC Adapter
- Motherboard
- Battery
You should call up DELL as i suspect it might be the motherboard. You can also try this and see if it works:
Take out the battery, AC Adapter and hold your power button for at least 15 seconds and the re-connect everything and see if it is recognized. -
sound like you are using a 65W adapter!
-
Check your adapter and let us know what it says. -
My cpu score on the 3dmark05 test scored around 550, its a 2.4ghz core 2 duo t8300
Someone said that score was very low yet my graphics card score was as expected !
could this be a problem ? -
As others have mentioned, this is best handled by calling Dell Support. Might as well take advantage of the warranty...

oh and when I go into device manager and click on 'processors', the box extends and appears (for some reason) 2 options both saying
"Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo CPU T8300 @ 2.4GHz"
why are there 2 processors? uninstall one or ..... -
Its a dual core processor - this is expected.
-
check your adapter

Replaced motherboard and graphics card and still low FPS,?
