Hi all,
I've had a few niggles with my 1530, (unstable base, uneven Aluminium palmrest, loud dvd drive, clicking hard drive, loose bezel).
Dell are sending a replacement in a few weeks, but I'm wondering what the best way of backing up of my current system is.
I'd like to make an image of my drive, onto an external drive.
Is this possible, or can I only make an image through DVDs?
Any advise appreciated!

Personally, I would use Norton Ghost or Acronis TI 11 (both I believe you can get for a 30 day trial) to make an image onto an external HD if you have one. I use TI 11 and it does a great job (running it from a bootable CD) of making an image or even cloning an entire disk.

Norton ghost was one of the best programs I ever purchased. I have multiple backups of both Vista and XP for both of my laptops.

Or you could exchange hard drives of the machines....
