Hey everyone,
I haven't been on here for a while, but that's because me and my studio xps 1340 have been having a nice and happy life for a while now... that is until I spilled coffee on it just recently. Now it's not so good-looking. Fortunately, I think my completecare warranty covers the spill and now I'm looking to replace it with one of the new Z line models. The questions here are, do you think the 15z is a good replacement for the sxps 1340, and do you think I will be offered a 15z as a replacement for the sxps 1340?
There are a few factors that are important to me in my replacement laptop:
1. size and weight - I am a college student and will need something that is fairly light and portable, similar to the 13" size I currently have.
2. dual monitor output - my studio could do this because of dual vid cards, but I'm not sure if the regular xps or xps z lines can do this nowadays...
3. potentially replacing the slot-loading optical drive for a HDD? not sure if this is even possible, but it'd be absolutely amazing if so
What are your thoughts? I think a more tempting option for me might be to wait a few weeks/months and hope that a smaller z model will come out that will fit my needs perfectly. Maybe a 13z or 14z model? Please dell, I'm begging you.
On that point, when do you think the other models of the z line will start to come out? Obviously, this is a random guess at this point but hopefully by the end of the year because my warranty is dwindling down...
Thanks for any comments/advice!

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Adunno if you'll get 15z as a guaranteed replacement, Dell tries to replace with the most comparable item. It would be nice if Dell released a 13z

i would actually prefer a 13z, but i doubt anyone knows when a smaller version of the 15z will be coming out
