    I have a Studio XPS 1645 Laptop the specs are:

    CAMERA : INTEGRATED CAMERA WITH FACIAL R
    MEMORY : 8gb (2X4gb) 1333MHZ DDR3
    HARD DRIVE : 500GB SERIAL ATA (5400RPM)
    OPTICAL DRIVE : 8X DVD+/-RW DRIVE INCLUD
    POWER SUPPLY : XPS 130W AC ADAPTER
    POWER CORD : UK 250V
    BATTERY : PRIMARY 9-CELL 85W/HR LI-ION
    GRAPHICS : INTEGRATED 1GB ATI RADEON HD 4670
    TV TUNER : NO INTEGRATED TV TUNER
    WIRELESS : DELL WIRELESS 1397
    WIRELESS : EUROPE DELL BLUETOOTH 370 CAR


    Dell UK has offered me a replacement for this machine

    They have offered me £1300 to configure a laptop with.

    I would like you to help me get the best machine for my money.

    I dont play games my major use is Adobe Photoshop, Indesign and some After Effects.

    I would also like to know if going for the "equal or better" option as per the Dell warranty is better or am i better off configuring a laptop with £1300

    I do not need warranty as my current warranty will be transferred.

    Would you consider a refurbished Precision? The 4670 Mobility is a gaming card. You are probably looking for FirePro/Quadro graphics.

    Thanks for the reply, I am open to all suggestions.
    Do dell provide refurbished laptops as replacements?

    and can my existing warranty be transferred to it?

    I really like the rgb led display is there a similar display available on the precision series?

    Sometimes they do, your best bet is talking to Dell directly.

    Yes the Precision offers the RGBLED but it is quite expensive. :eek:
