I have the 3-year complete care, plus accidental coverage warranty on my xps m1330.

Over the past 9 months, I have gotten 2 motherboards, memory cards, an adapter, and hard drive. Even after all of that, it still wouldn't work and I now need a new motherboard (third one), new hard drive (2nd one), fans, and a processor.

Dell mentioned giving me a replacement system, which would be a refurbished studio xps.

Question: Under the warranty, is it possible to get a new system? Or, will they always be refurbished?

Depends if they have in stock or not.

No stock for Dell means new unit for you.

If a rephurb, it should have a sticker on the bottom by law i think.

Try to push for atleast xps 16 series.

Thanks. It will be a studio xps 16 series. They don't know which one yet. I think I will call again and push for a new system. It isn't like I just had one problem - I have had multiple major issues. I have essentially been without a fully functioning laptop for 9 months. Add to that this last wasted week and the month they say it will to ship me the refurb...I will have been without a laptop for almost a year! I don't want to get a refurb that may have been returned for some malfunction. Based on my experience, Dell doesn't know what is exactly wrong with these systems - it seems like train-and-error, at least it was for me. So, whose to say they actually fixed what was wrong in the refurbished systems?

I appreciate the link too - I had not idea a refund could be requested. I may actually ask about that. If I can get a full refund, I would love to get my money back and buy a brand new laptop, rather than being stuck with a refurbished system.
