Hello. So, I got a Dell XPS 15 about a year ago, and it's been alright. It has an i7 2630QM, nvidia geforce gt 525m, 8 gb RAM, and a 750 gb HDD (7200 rpm). It's been pretty good, but when I do more serious video editing on the computer (specifically Adobe After Effects CS5), the program just shuts down. I'm pretty sure the graphics card is the problem here, so I want to upgrade it to a nvidia geforce gt 540m. I'm just not too sure if it will be worth the effort, and if the XPS 15 is upgradeable at all. Will I be able to upgrade the graphics card? And if so, will it be worth it?

same problems too GT540M. try CS 5.5.

The card cannot be replaced, it is soldered on the motherboard. The only way to change it is to swap the whole mainboard.
Having said that After Effects should word regardless of the card, so I would look to other problems (drivers for instance) if yours crashes. -
Check your laptop for dust.
