    Here is my plan:

    - I buy the SXPS 16 with a 4670 the minute it is released in Canada and configure it to as closely to my current config as possible.
    - When it comes in, I manually swap the HDDs from my current SXPS 16 to the new one.

Would this allow me to get around installing Windows and all my programs? Once I swap the HDDs and turn on the new laptop, will it boot up as if it was the old one, but with newer hardware?

And I'd just like to vent my frustration that I can't order the SXPS with the 4670 and a T9800/T9900 in Canada yet.

Kind of a side question but is there any possible way for me to order the new SXPS 16 from the USA or wherever it's available and somehow get it shipped to Canada?

It *should* be fine. The 4670 is an ATi chip so there shouldn't be any issues, just re-install the Catalyst drivers.

The SXPS comes with the OS on CD along with any drivers and such that came with it. So, once you have the new HDD in, boot it from CD and you should be ready to go.

You could also use a HDD cloning program along with an external HDD case.. this give you the benefit of an external HDD once you are done.

You could always get a friend to order it from the US.. but, you may run into problems if you ever need warranty service. You could also manually swap the CPUs and sell off the one that came from Dell.
