Hi guys, seems like many of the m1330 owners have had similar experiences with their laptops as I have. I am on my 2nd m1330 within 2.5 years and have had to have 2-3 motherboards replaced (lost count), 3 power adapters, keyboard and palm rest replaced.

My 1 year warranty expired March 2010 and I am currently experiencing issues with power/charging. When plugged in the computer will not charge or even turn on as my battery is completely dead now. I believe the power adapter is working because I can see a blue light (on the charger). I took my computer to Walmart and used one of the display computers to plug in my laptop and NOTHING. So I'm assuming it's the motherboard ugh  I am not willing to purchase a new motherboard unless I can get it for a good deal on Fleabay.

I had my old motherboard from my 1st m1330. I removed the power jack off of it. I am wondering if you guys think that if I soldered it to the broken motherboard (2nd m1330) would it remedy the problem? Or is the issue of charging the m1330 more complex than just the power jack? Oh and I have the NVidia graphic card.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

OK, so I found this article that covers Power Jack replacements. I'm gonna have to go out and purchase a soldering iron and some lead. I'll try to post pictures of the process and see if this solves the issue. It may be worthwhile for many of the m1330 owners who may be out of warranty like I am. The power jack can be purchased on Fleabay for around $10. I figure if this works, it'll be a helluva lot cheaper than purchasing a new mobo.

Are you sure it is the power jack? I am sure I have read articles about the charging circuit board needing replacing (which has the pins that plug into the battery)?
