I'm collecting a 2nd user one tomorrow and want to check out it's the correct spec in the BIOS before I collect it.

Could someone please let me know what the BIOS describes the Blu Ray device as and also what the native resoultion is reported in the BIOS for the 1440x900 screen.

If there's any chance of a screen shot I'd be very grateful.

    Thanks

Native res is 1440x900 of course. It should be obvious if it is blu ray or not. You can look at it in the device manager as well.

Many years of experience have taught me not to assume anything....and certainly don't employ logic when trying to find out what is reported as against what should be reported!!

Um... there really nothing but common sense in knowing that a 1440x900 screen has a native resolution of 1440x900 in terms of Dell XPS. It would be silly if they sold a WUXGA 1920x900 screen while the native is actually the same as 1440x900. Dell would take a HUGE beating.

He says he's done a clean restore of Vista that needs setting up....which is why I want to know what the BIOS reports as the drive for BR (I'm not sitting there for 30 minutes setting up Vista just to check the drive type!!).

You don't need to. The "Device Manager" under "Control Panel" to view what the drive is. If you already did a clean restore of Vista, (I'm assuming its just a clean install without any drivers and whatnot installed) you can still view what the device is through the Device Manager without having to set up/install anything.

    Vista isn't that slow. :p

He's done a clean install that hasn't been setup yet. I don't have 30 minutes to do the setup.

I just want someone with a BR drive to please tell me what it's reported as in the BIOS screen.
