When you reset the bios what else is changed besides the date and time? Does it delete all the drivers and I have to install it again? When reseting the bios I take the coin cell battery out for about 30 secs and then put it back in.

No when restting the bios it will not remove/delete your drivers etc.
It will revert to a basic or default bios setting.
You can then go into the bios and reset date, times and any ther setting listed within your bios set up mode.

I am getting a nmi: parity check / memory parity error the system has halted. I have another harddrive for my m1710 and when put it in I dont get this error message anymore. When I put the other harddrive in I get the error message. Thats why I ask this question too see if it fix the problem. Can reformating this harddrive fix this problem instead of resetting bios?
