    On my XPS 1530, it was just FN + ESC.

    By sleep, do you mean standby or hibernate?

    For standby, just close the lid and it will put itself in standby mode.

    For hibernate, you need to select the arrow option next to the shutdown button in the start menu.

    However, you can also customize you middle touch-sensitive button (looks like a three pronged cross) to put the system in hibernate when touched. For this, you need to go into the Windows Mobility Center (brought up with the left touch button) and press the settings button in the "Instant Launch Manager" section.

    Hope this helps. ;)

    You can also change the power button behavior under advanced power management settings to go into either. The touch-sensitive buttons are too easy to accidentally hit for that, I think.

    @RedlanceEQ:

    Hi, I was also wondering how to configure the Instant Launch button to put my laptop to sleep OR hibernate (hibernate is preferable). I don't see the option under settings, though. How did you configure your button?
