When you recieve a laptop from dell brand new you turn it on it goes through welcome options and account creation after that you are welcomed to windows with all drivers installed and fully up to date.

    How is this achieved?

I believe if u reinstall using the recovery drive, then all drivers should be installed. Not 100% sure about this though

Yes, I think so too, but I don't think it installs drivers that are "fully up to date". I think when you do the recovery thing, it will be the same outdated drivers that came on your system when you first took it out of the box.

Personally I would recommend just doing a format of your hard drive and clean install of your operating system.

The welcome program is pre-installed from Dell. The program will let you activate Windows. Once the program is installed and activated the Windows Upgrade program will look for updated drivers for your system. If you do re-install from a recovery disc then you're back to the original factory setup and will go thru the steps all over again. In case of my m1530 Dell also sent the appropriate programs that were installed.
