Looks good to me... very similar to the system I have, except you have the RGB screen and leather cover :D

Thanks for looking. I have some slight OCD with stuff like this, have to make sure it's perfect!

I don't think you can go too wrong if you've configured it using Dell's website (ie. no major components will be missing... lol), so as long as you are happy with the specs (and they look great to me), I'd say go for it. With all of the recent talk about a new model of XPS possibly coming out, I was briefly regretting having ordered my system last month, but then I thought about it rationally and realized this system is more powerful than I'll ever have need for (to be honest, my 3 year old laptop still serves me well in everything except for gaming).

That's exactly my thought too! :D

I'm kind of annoyed that the GPU isn't a 5000 series, but then again the GPU in my Studio 17 is 256mb and it can basically handle everything fine! This is 1GB!

    Haha. :)

I've been very impressed with the 4670! I know the extreme/hardcore gamers are probably disappointed, but it has handled everything I've thrown at it and then some. Gaming at 1920*1080 with high details (or medium-high in some of the newest games) is a sight to behold, and the 4670 does it well.

Score that RGBLED screen ASAP! I was chatting to an online rep today about the screen and here's what he said about it being available in the future:

"The RGBLED will never be an option on the new XPS 16 model, the one with Core i5 or i7. It used to be on the old model which came with Core 2 Duo, but it's more likely they won't bring it back since that model is slowly being phased out."

Already scored. Order submitted. So they confirmed there was a new model coming?

They didn't confirm it.. looking at the context, I think the rep could have been saying they were phasing out the core 2 duo models.. but I'm not quite sure. We do know that the old i7's and the 4670 are just that, old. So i'm sure a refresh is coming, but who knows how long that'll be.

Me, I'm trying to decide between an m11x and this, it's a harder decision than I'd like to admit and I have to order something within a week. sucks.

I really doubt this is correct. I have a 1647 with the RGB screen (i7-620) and I just saw a post today about somebody ordering a 1645 (i7) with the RGB screen. Since the RGB screen is really the only key differentiator the XPS has over competing models I would be very surprised if they discontinued it.
