    Running I8kfangui gives BSOD ?

    I did all the stuff to install i8kfangui like disabling diver signing and signing the driver .. test mode etc.. after all that when i run it i get BSOD ... did any one succeed to install I8K if so can you please tell me how ? or any alternative to it?
    i was doing it on my l502x with windows home 7 64x !

    I don't think I8kfangui works past 965 chipset laptops, at least not for Dell computers. Might want to consult Commander Wolf.

    i8kfangui doesn't work past 965. Some new versions of SpeedFan are supposed to support some new Dells, but I haven't verified anything for myself in that area.

    yes i checked speedfan it has a checkbox to enable it for dell computers but does't seem to work and it mangles up the turbo boost ... the computer hangs for a second or two and intel turbo boost gadget shows very high values , double or triple , the original boost .

    AFAIK the problem is that the fan is not controlled by the BIOS directly (and conventionally), but though a separate EC on the system.

    Because of this it is difficult to obtain software control until someone finds a workaround for the interface.
