I just reformated my dell 1530 and I feel like its going slow when playing games still.

    I got the t8300 2.4ghz
    4gb ram
    8600 card

Just ran 3dmark06 for the first time and I got 4799

Also when I play games it seems like I only get like 15 to 20 fps tops

What can I do to get better performance without losing all of the quality?

    Thanks

The bench seems normal for a 8600m GT. :)

Your GPU might be overheating, and forced to underclock as result. Can you download this app:

    http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php

Keep it running in the background, and try play games again? after a few minutes, close the game, and upload a screenshot of HWmonitor.

We can then tell you whether your laptop is overheating. In which case you might have to contact Dell.
