That's weird, the back of my screen is never really warm.

I was wondering the same thing about the screen in the long run. Could be why maybe some users are having color problems( green/pink screens) with their RGBLED in particular.

Oh wow I didn't notice they have a $300 off special not to mention the new reduced price. That is definitely an attractive deal if it includes USB 3.0 as well (though I haven't seen Dell's SXPS 1647 pricing in detail yet). That said, AFAIK the SXPS 1647 should have switchable graphics as well due to the presence of an Arrandale CPU.

I think the catch with the Envy is that USB 3.0 is only offered for the i7 cpu and not the i5.

I think we shouldn't discuss the ENVY any further in this forum or else we will get kicked out from here :D

No no, I mean the front of the screen, the area you're viewing. Try placing your hand there after you've been gaming for a while, it's surprisingly warm (the left side).

The reason is the design of the back vent redirects the air coming out from it upwards along the screen when your screen is open. Bad design choice to be honest.

Ahh, just put my hand there (I never touch my screen normally) lol yeah it's kinda warm. Yeah that might eventually cause some problems. However they won't be my problems, they'll be Dell's problems because that's who I'll be harassing.

I would think there would be a moderate to substantial difference, as the 5830 has double the amount of pipelines....Then again, the 5730 is clocked higher, and the 5830 is still using GDDR3....I dunno...I can't see it being slower at least ;)

I do not see the new card listed in the configuration setup. The only option it lists for me is the 4670 - 1 gb. (on the US site) Are these new cards an option in some areas, are they not listed on the US site yet, or did the pull them? I'd like to wait for the new graphics if they are coming soon.

    thanks

They were available for a brief time on Dell USA then got pulled the next day. There has been reports that the some rep from dell, allegedly, said that the new card was a mistake on the site and it has been corrected.

Confirmed by my commercial From Dell France too. He contacted the marketing service and they said that the new card was a mistake and that Dell have no plan for the moment to upgrade the 4670 in the SXPS 1647.
