    Hey guys,
    So dell replaced my m1330 with a SXPS 1340, but they did not have any LED ones available, so they sent a CCFL. They agreed to swap it with the WLED screen. My question is, is the casing different for the CCFL and WLED like it is on the m1330? I know the LED casing is thinner on the m1330.
    Thanks in advance.

    I think they will just replace the whole thing, screen and casing.

    Cheers

    What do you have to do to get Dell to replace your laptop? Burn a whole through it? lol I got a SXPS 13, and wouldn't mind updating it when something new comes out.

    Are the connectors (mechanical and electrical) identical for both the ccfl and led? ccfl usually requires higher voltages and AC, whereas led uses lower voltages and DC. In addition to the different backlight, Im assuming the physical LCD panel is made by a different manufacturer with a different signal connector.

    Chances are, ccfl and led are not interchangeable, but Im interested if someone could prove otherwise as this would be an interesting upgrade.

    In terms of thickness, the CCFL and LED monitors look exactly the same. What they gona do is come to your house and replace the entire screen aka the entire top part.

    Thanks guys.

    @jonjonk,
    I got a m1330(3-4 months old), got from outlet. Had motherboard problems like everyone else and after 2 replacements, Dell swapped it with the intel X3100 motherboard after my request. I guess with the motherboard replacments, the techs messed up the LED screen cables and I started having probs with the screen. I spoke to a supervisor on the chat and he approved a system exchange.

    so there were like "fcck it" huh? lol I just got this sxps 13 half a month ago, also from outlet. Already the LED got replaced TWICE. Be sure to check the LED for any problems before they install it. ps did you ask for the replacement first?

    This is untrue. The casing for the WLED is thinner.

    The casing for m1330 was thinner, but, for sxps 13, it is exactly the same size. That's why you can find numerous posts on this forum to aid differentiation.
