I mentioned on another thread that i got the XPS with no leather, so here are some pics. There isn't really that much to see. Look at it now I would rather want it with the leather but I can live with this just fine.
As for the build quality looks like the same material, but the new glassy accent looks a little "newer" its not that the colour is off but I think that the glossy accent is fresh off the line with the rest of the case must have been built some time back. *shrugs*
For full disclosure I made that tropicana book stand last year during finals![]()
How i love procrastination
On a similar note i did a clean install the other day and I have a question that i'm hoping to get answered
After my clean install in the dell support center application under service tag and express service code the two fields are blank- anyway i can get those back or I am out of luck?
I have a sticker on my computer that has both and I called dell to make sure they can validate my warranty still

Thanks for the pics.
Looks like they used the same material allthroughout in place of the leather. I guess its a more better build since the leather is only glued and could come off after extensive use. -
My XPS 16 is the same. I do however wish I did get the leather, but I didn't want to pay another $30-40 for it.
The gloss surface is just another area to get fingerprints on. -
Thanks for the pics
It surely is nice and glossy!

I was a bit skeptical about the leather at first but now that I can see what it would look like without I much prefer it with the leather. It would just feel odd carrying it withough the leather

I got my SXPS16 right before they started charging extra for the leather... if it was cheaper to get it without leather at the time I would have gotten it without, now owning the laptop I am extremely happy I got mine WITH leather... for the amount of fingerprints this thing attracts it is extremely nice to grab non-leather when hauling this laptop around, it feels very nice holding it sideways and keeps it clean... other than that it is pretty worthless, but I guess nice because it will protect the laptop from damage/scratches

yeah, i'm having second thoughts about the no leather accent, but its not really a deal breaker, I have a 9 cell battery so i usually hold it with my fingers around the extra cells. Good grip.

Maybe SGP Store will come up with a full leather skin for the SXPS line....
