Hello there. I inherited a Studio XPS 1340 and am looking to replace the scratched up screen plastic. I've torn this laptop down completely to perform the copper mod, replace keyboard, etc. I'm comfortable with the inner workings of this model, but have not opened the actual screen assembly. I ordered a new replacement screen cover, and am trying to prepare for its arrival. Do I need any type of adhesive for the replacement? From what I've read, there are a few hooks that hold the cover onto the top of the screen assembly, but I don't know if I will need to apply any new adhesive. Has anyone performed this replacement? I've had a difficult time finding threads on this specific issue.

Thanks in advance for any pointers! :)

Hate to bump my own thread, but still looking for some advice on this. I disassembled my current screen assembly, which was held together via adhesive strips and hooks. The adhesive strips appear to keep dust off of the screen. Anyways, when I removed the outer screen filter / bezel, it took the adhesive strips with it, and it does not seem to be easy / practical to remove. I have now received my new screen filter / bezel and would like to replace the adhesive. I'm curious if anyone knows of any thin types of adhesive strips out there that they could recommend. I don't want to use anything that might leak on the screen or be too challenging to remove (like Gorilla Glue or Super Glue).

Anyone done this type of replacement before?
