The processor isn't usually the limiting factor when playing games.

Maybe head to Google and try typing in this:

    XPS 1645 problems

Is that an eye opening experience? :)

Many of the original problems have been fixed or reduced in severity but this has led to other issues like GPU throttling due to heat. There is also a problem with a poorly located exhaust port which likely won't ever be fixed until the next redesign.

If you can find an Asus G73, you might be better off. The XPS 1645 is better priced but you're not saving money in the long run if you have to spend countless hours trying to get it repaired and constantly fighting with Dell tech support to get it to run at full speed. At least Asus put some effort into designing a suitable cooling solution for the hot running CPUs and GPUs being used these days.

Your best bet would be to fill this out:
What Notebook Should I Buy Form,

Then, when complete.. make a thread HERE "What Notebook Should I Buy" (section of the Forum), and "copy and paste" your contents into the thread you created.

That way you can get some great input & suggestions from all forum members on all Brands/Models of Notebooks! ;) :D

(And, I went from the XPS 1640 to the XPS 1647 (replaced 1640/"accidental fall"..haven't really experienced anything problematic in the nearly one month I have had the 1647 (some Bluetooth connectivity prob's)...But, then again..I am not a "heavy gamer"..either...And, only time will tell for me yet..*fingers crossed*....
