    Hey guys,

I am fairly new to these forums as I just purchased my 1647, and after reading many reviews and watching many videos, it has come to my attention that when you open the laptop screen, it blocks the heat vent in the back. I would just like to know your personal experiences with this flaw and also if there is a way to bypass it, eg. a cooling pad. Also, does this cause problems with the screen? Does anyone have experiences with dust particles being noticed on the screen? Or does this have virtually no effect and is just quite annoying?

Let me know guys and thanks in advance for all of the feedback!

    -Mike

Yep. It makes quite a difference in performance. Because of this I'm returning the laptop. After 10 minutes or so in Battlefield Bad Company 2, the system throttles and the game becomes unplayable.

The unit does get hot, but the temperature is still withing acceptable range I think...and that's not what is causing the throttling, it is the power usage.
