    SXPS 16 speakers quit working after using headphones for the first time.

    Hmm, haven't had my new rig for a week yet and the speakers quit working after putting headphones in and taking them back out. I can still get sound through headphones when I plug them back in, but no speakers at all when the headphones are not plugged in. Will be interesting to see how Dell tech support troubleshoots this!

    Happened to me. The jack detection of the audio board was defective, so I had that replaced.

    Check your IDT audio control panel (in Control Panel) and check if any of the jack icons on the right side of the IDT window says "Headphones connected" even though there's no headphones physically plugged into your laptop.
