Sorry for making a new thread about it, but I was wondering if you guys had any idea when new products like this generally make it to the outlet. The recent addition of the 4670 option is what sold me on the SXPS 16, but I am ok with waiting a bit to save some money.

I guess my question is: in general, how long does it take new products to appear on the outlet website? or if you KNOW when the 4670 SXPSs will hit, can you tell me that?

    Thanks

If I had to guess, maybe 2-3 weeks after the first shipments arrive to consumers. I'm about 1.5-2 weeks away from receiving my order so I'd say you're looking at about maybe 5 weeks before it makes it to the outlet.

thats pretty much what I figured too, but its nice to at least have someone give me an answer.

3 different dell reps couldn't even make an approximation for me, and one of them even told me that I should just buy a new one because the outlet computers are "never more than a hundred dollars cheaper anyway".

    Thanks

5 weeks is a long time though... anyone have any good studio XPS coupons they aren't going to use? =P

In this instance the Dell rep may be right. I wouldn't count on the 4670 based SXPS 16 being heavily discounted. You might get it for $100-$200 cheaper max. Besides, nothing quite has that feeling than buying it new.

i just can't can't see that being correct. I see 3650 models with 4 gigs of ram and the 1080p display for like $1000, which is a 25-30% discount. since the 4670 is only a 100 dollar upgrade, I can't imagine that a refurb'd 4760 model would go for more than 1200 with identical other specs, unless I'm missing something.

It's the quantity or lack there of that will drive the price up. SXPS 16 with the 3670 is available in large quantities and the 4670 is brand new and only available in one region. So like I said, I wouldn't count on a big price reduction right away..not for at least 2-3 months.

It depends on supply & demand, returns, 1640's canceled during production, from dell.com, etc.

This one...prob's beginning of September...I would think!!!

Have you signed up for the e-mail notifications, on coupons & when the models have been released for sale at the Outlet:

Maybe in a couple of weeks? They don't have to ship the 4670 XPS 16's to the other countries either...
