    Hey guys,

I'm running windows 7 64bit, I got a new RGBLED screen as a replacement mid last week. Now I just realized that when I close the lid the screen isn't turning off. I've went through all of the power options and set it to "Do nothing" when closing the lid and that, for every single laptop I've owned has made the screen to shut off when closed. If I let it idle it'll dim and then shut down like it normally would during windows use. Is there a quickfix or some sort of driver needed?

Also grabbed a 9cell battery from a parts sort locally, couldn't believe they had a 9cell for $30! This thing looks brand new, but I'm suspicious that it might be some chinese fake, how can I determine if it's real? It only have 1.0% of wear on it according to HWiNFO32.

Thanks in advance for any help

Two things: Reinstall QuickSet and Reinstall latest Radeon HD drivers.

I gave that a try and still nothing, the LCD still stays on while the lid is closed I can see the light bleed through.

All of the other options are to put it to sleep / hibernate / shutdown. Do nothing is the default just turn off your screen option on every single laptop that I've used.

You want to set your computer to sleep when the lid is closed. When it is set to do nothing,, the computer is still on, as well as the screen.

Sleep, if you want your monitor to go out when you close the lid.

No. Usually when you close the screen, the backlight will turn off.

Setting the laptop to sleep will not be very productive as sometimes the laptop just doesn't need to be open when encoding something and having the screen closed helps the heat come out of the rear vent and not towards the screen.

I understand why you want to set it to do nothing (as I set all my laptops to), but for testing can you set it to sleep when you close the lid? This will help let you know if the sensor that detects the lid is even working at all- if it doesn't sleep, call Del to have them fix it.

Sorry my bad. Mine was set to Do Nothing too and it does turn off the screen whenever I close the lid. You might want to reinstall your display driver.
