Hey everyone, this is a little thing I noticed just last night, actually, about my 1640, I guess I probably didn't pay much attention to it before, but:
Most easily seen when the background is black (e.g. screen saver, boot-up, etc.), I noticed that the black in the middle is the darkest, whereas the black on the left and right sides are slightly lighter (as if due to extra residual light from either side), and gradually smooths into the darkest of the black, of course. Is this normal on a WLED screen? Does anyone else notice this issue?
Thanks!

The uneven backlighting is pretty normal for laptop LCD.
Expensive and high quality panels will have even and good illumination.
The brighter area depends on the light source.
My M1530 LCD backlight is at bottom, so bottom of the LCD is bit lighter than the rest.

thanks, but how about WLED? that's not the same as LCD yea?

*bump*
I guess I should have titled this: "backlighting distribution on screen" or something lol
anyone notice slightly lighter black on either side? (like during bootup, etc.) thanks! I'm kinda paranoid, and I hope it's not something I did to my screen while carrying it around in my backpack so much!
