I'm the proud owner of a new SXPS 1647. Do you guys have any recommendations as to sleeves / screen protectors / anti-glare stuff for this machine? (I have the 9 cell battery.)

My screen seems to be a total dust / lint magnet and the reflections are a bit too much. Plus, I don't want to get scratches on this :) The styrofoam (or whatever) screen protector that dell sent seems to be leaving residues on my screen and the microfiber sleeve isn't too good at getting those out. Got any tried and tested methods of cleaning these?

    EDIT:

    I'm looking at
    a) Case Logic Sleeve: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001QFYDAG
    b) LCD protector: http://www.amazon.com/Green-Anti-Glare-Protector-Widescreen-Micro-fiber/dp/B0035JKKY4/
or something by photodon / 3M.

I bought one of those keyboard plastic protectors (made specifically for the studio xps) from ebay. Seems to work pretty well so far and keeps the marks off my screen.

Whats the best keyboard cover for this? I've been using that styrofoam thing for months to be my keyboard cover..The keys are cheap and show grease real easily, regardless of how clean you think they are..

This is my 2nd xps (replacement) and I try to avoid typing on the keys directly as much as I can..But the styrofoam is getting old...I need a more perm solution..

So the ebay ones work? I read they didnt fit...?

hey tenknics. I just searched on ebay for "dell studio xps 16 keyboard cover" and found a few. They are pretty cheap (like $4) and they fit the keyboard almost perfectly (only problem is that the caps lock key on the left is kind of short). Its basically a plastic cover with the molds to fit the studio xps' keys so nothing can get stuck between the keys and you'll be typing on top of the cover.

Thanks, Cin'. I think I'll get the shaggymac. Not too sure about the sleeve yet. How thick is the 5dot sleeve? I want something that's thin and will fit into the laptop compartment of my backpack.

Also, word of warning: The dell sticker on the lid seems to be badly stuck. The 'E' came off a bit just 5 minutes back when I was wiping it. Got any ideas for adhesive? Will normal super glue do?

Have the lid assembly replaced. That's... not even funny (I'm still laughing though...). Those letters should not come off under any circumstances. It points to negligence in DELL's quality control process.
