OK, so after a long perios of lurking, I thought I'd post here again. I posted a topic on this a while ago in the OS section but it all seemed pretty dead in there as far as activity goes.

The situation is still pretty much the same with temps sitting around 60* right now. I'm going to treat it to Win7 ultimate soon though. Another difference is that in taskmanager, it says I have something like 30% CPU useage yet when I total up all the processes they only come to about 20% or something like that. The odd thing is that all this is happening while simply web browsing with a little flash running in the background. As it is, I have a medium amount of processes running in the background but most of them are simply at idle so shouldn't be taxing my system much at all (sure, they use RAM, but I have 4GB to play with so who cares?).

I've been hearing a lot about FF4 using a lot of CPU time with hardware acceleration enabled (ironically) so I'm wondering if that could be the culprit to my high CPU useage. It's odd really that they touted FF4 as being super awesome and would run on anything whereas from what I've seen of it, 3.6 was both more stable and more efficient.

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
You got alot of running processes (average is for me is 33 for XP and 45 for Vista/7).
Also flat out, I hate the new FireFox. I like older 3.6 than 4. -
I looked at the processes again but under admin and I swear there still aren't that many. I killed as many as I thought I could (including some windows ones) but I still ended up with something like 60. Probably about ten processes are taken by drivers and stuff but that still leaves me with fifty which is a lot.
Anyway, when I upgrade to windows 7 I hope processes shouldn't be springing out of my computers ears anymore. The thing that's really bugging me though is the heat. I went on a buying spree for the steam EA week and got mass effect but although I can run it pretty much fine, it just overheats after about half an hour, meaning I have to stop.
SXPS1640 still runs slow with full reinstall
