About 1-2 weeks ago, my media buttons lights stopped turning on. But still functions. What I've found out on Google is that if the media buttons lights flash when turning on the computer, then its the Quickset that you need to update. If it doesn't then the lights need to be replaced (mine doesn't flash). So I called Dell Support (unfortunately) and I'd have to call the out of warranty hardware service to get the estimate (my warranty expired last year August) and most likely going to be technician coming in. It's closed today so I'm gonna call tomorrow to hear what they have to say. I wanted know how much it is to buy another warranty to compare with the out of warranty service charge. And apparently I can't extend nor buy new one because my warranty expired last year, which kinda doesn't make sense since Dell is a money .
I don't know if this might be the cause, but I've been using Sleep Mode instead of Hibernate during the day and shutdown every night before I go to sleep.
I've had this laptop since September 2010, it was a replacement from SXPS 1640.
Does anyone have/had this problem?
