So I just received my new samsung 128gb ssd and i noticed one thing, my download speeds have slowed SIGNIFICANTLY. now it's not my internet because I'm still downloading around 100-200 kb/sec, but the writing to hd speed is a lot slower. why is that?

Did you do a clean install or just copy the image of your old HDD?
There is no reason why your downloads would slow down due to HDD.
Also consider that 100-200kb/sec is less than 1% of the SDD's rated speed.
Although I highly doubt the HDD is the issue (test SDD speeds using IOMETER or CrystalDiskMark) you may want to make sure you have the Intel AHCI drivers correctly installed. -
The 128 GB Samsung uses MLC(multi level cell) instead of SLC(Single Level Cell). MLC based drives are slower than SLC based drives at writing.

I did a clean install and ahci is enabled by default when i got my computer (in the bios) and i installed all of intel's drivers.
i have no idea hwy it would od such a thing as I tested my speeds with speed test and it was the same as before. it seems as though when I download, it would only download one program at a time and it's at a slower speed, i'll update this again tomorrow -
Depending no which version of Windows you installed, you may have to install the Intel AHCI drivers during the install. However, even without AHCI drivers the drive should still perform better than you are describing.
To help you you need to supply a bit more information regarding what is actually happening.
First: you mentioned you are downloading at 100-200kb/s what were your previous speeds? Where and how exactly is the slowdown you mention occuring?
Second: run a test on your hdd using attobench, or crystaldiskmark this will give you an idea on how fast your drive is working.
