can anyone please confirm that the samsung 830 SSD works with xps 15 L502x, i'm looking at replacing the inbuilt hard drive with a 128gb and then get a optical caddy for extra storage.

I do find the internal stock drive to be quite noise in operation, quite a loud buzz/hum all the time.

all I can tell you is I have a sam 830 in my L702x and it works well. I don't see why it would not work in a L502x

Thanks for the reply, i notice you have the scorpio black in your xps 17 do you notice it much noise wise?

also do you think i would see much of a performance boost going from 6gb of 1333mhz ram to 8gb of 1600mhz?

Scorpio black is not so loud. And 8 gigs of 1600 ram will not be noticeably faster, only in benchmarks and other high tech stuff.

i can hear my scorpio unless i have music on, just a constant wirr, i replaced it with a 250gb 5200rpm toshiba as test and it was pretty much silent.
