My samsung kept beeping and clicking and given I wanted an external drive, brought an enclosure for the samsung and works well in this role,

I replaced it with a 320GB western digital which is slightly noiser when seeking although not irritating, and occasionally clicks quietly. Smart values are still all normal after over 400 hours of use. I'd recommend it too as its quicker than the 250GB samsung (faster access times) and gave a welcome boost in loading performace.

I, too, have a Dell 1330 and a HD Samsung HM251JJ. My usually produces the loud beep at least once a day. Now that I see it appears to be a common problem in Dell laptops I will be phoning Dell...

Was anyone able to have Dell send them a replacement HD and install it themselves? I really can't be without my laptop for the time it will take to send it in to be replaced.

    Hello everyone :)

I've got the same problem with my Samsung drive as everyone else. But there is something more, because I cannot run Samsung ES-Tool v. 2.11a. I get some exception while detecting my drive.

I can give you URL to to screens.

And right now I even cannot perform this actions suggested above. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

any fix to this issue as I just got a M1330 with 250GB Samsung drive. I heard the clunk noise just under the scroll pad area where I think the HD is.
