I just want to say how satisified I am with the XPS 16 since I recieved it at the end of January. No overheating or BSOD's.

Yay! You're one of the few happy users who shows it! :D

Believe it or not, retail workers usually want to hear good comments, but mostly bad ones find their way into the "comments & suggestions" box XD

    I'm a satisfied 1640 user as well.

Though lately I've been developing a tiny bit of envy of my cousin's cheaply priced Acer 6930Z's speakers and webcam. They are far better than my 1640's speakers and webcam.

That's just about it though. Still happy with my 1640 haha.

I've had mine for just under a week, and not a single problem here either. Then again, I did wipe the HDD and immediately installed Windows 7 RC1 as soon as I made sure everything else was ok hardware-wise :)

Satisfied SXPS 16 user as well and I even had problems.

I'm on my second unit due to an HDD failure and I had some BSOD issues. As soon as I blew the image away and formatted it, no issues, not even with Win 7 7057. I'm formatting again and installing Win 7 RC tonight. This is the nicest computer I have ever owned.

I got this a month back and initially the system was slow. Then instead of reinstalling the OS to remove the bloatware i applied the Vista tweaks in the OS forum and BAM..... my PC was atleast 50% faster.

Then i partitioned and installed UDUNTU in dual boot and was able to get it working without any issues.

Once the RC1 is released I formatted the Linux and made dual book of windows 7 with vista.

I have installed the call of duty world at war and some other games and this system is performing very well till now. I can feel the heat from the system but i would say it feel good during winter :)

Overall i am a very happy customer.

I didn't think the SXPS16's speakers would be worse than the Acer's(considering we have that Acer at work and it sounds pretty normal) considering a few reviews praise those speakers for being really good for notebook standards >.>

yeah im also very impressed with the speakers, they sound considerably better than anything Ive heard from a notebook before........and im quite impressed with the subwoofer it really takes away that tinny sound ive heard from most notebooks.

The Acer laptop I mentioned (6930Z) also has a built-in subwoofer and Dolby Digital marketing gimmick on its speakers. But after playing the same MP3 on my cousin's Acer and my 1640 I can definitely say that the Acer's speakers' sound playback quality is much better.

I've had mine a week and I must say that I've been suprisingly impressed with it! I cam from a laptop that had a better than average screen, so I didn't expect this one to blow it away like it does. But it is also extremely quick (of course the fresh install of Windows 7 RC1 probably helped). So far, no problems yet...
