So I got to check out the M1330 today at work. They had one on hand in the demo lab so I stopped in to check it out. It was pretty sweet actually thin and sleek, red casing with 9-cell battery. Couldn't tell if it was the LED or standard display but it looked pretty thin (guy wasn't sure either). The brightness on the screen was pretty good and the truelife looked nice. Didn't get a chance to check out the specs or use it because they were doing something on it, but it was still cool to look at. The slot load DVD is clean looking too. I am in the same boat with the rest of you guys on the long lead times but at least I can go look at one and drool while everyone else just gets to post threads...haha ;)

awesome. can you snag a couple pictures of it? i'm wondering how it looks with the 4 or 6 cell battery as a lot, if not all, show the 9 cell.

I guess Apple views the M1330 as a threat. Good. :p

Not really anything more than you guys already know, seems like its some ppls full time job trying to find out whats going on. I haven't seen 1 email that says anything about the 1330's I even sent a couple trying to see what the hold up was for selfish reasons but didn't get anywhere. I check my order on a daily internally and it is still showing PP with not really any updates

Greg I don't work for apple, blahdude was correct in his first guess... but I agree they should see it as a threat. We are coming into an important part of the notebook market with a solid contender. I think Dell is tired of not being first in notebook sales...

Yea everyone loves to freak out about every bit of news on these but I would say take it with a grain of salt because I doubt anyone outside of manufacturing and upper mgmt. really knows whats going on with these. That includes customer service, sales reps, online reps, and most mgrs.

i've seen a real one last weekend here in malaysia in a dell roadshow. there's only 1 working unit and 1 just the casing. yeah it was very sleek laptop and by using it for few mins i made an order. ordered on 15th july, and the estimated delivery date is 3rd august. the unit i saw was a black colour m1330 with led backlight screen with pretty much everything. except the remote control. didn't take any photos cause i thought there will be tons of them next week here cause they'll start to ship on 20th july.

My shipping date is the 30th of July,
If the start shipping the 20th of july. does it means that everybody that is pushed back after the 30th, still is in front of me.

Well... the 20th of July shipping date is for Austrlia/UK users (I think)... the US started shipping on the 10th... (according to Dell's blog). I'm not sure what to believe though....

Any of you intending to put in Windows XP after receiving your machines? I just manage to find the NVidia drivers on opendriver website. Dell is not posting that many. Guess will have to hunt for the rest ourselves. :p

I intend to first try out virtualization using Zen with Windows XP and Windows Vista. If that works out, then I'll stick with that setup.
