I heard rumors that you are stuck with the 8400 and 8600 nVidia and will not be able to change it?

umm.... your mobile graphics card is a part of your motherboard. It is impossible to change.

Depends the laptop... but for dells with the 8400's and 8600's... yep, can't be changed. Not a rumor.

yes, depends on the make&model. for the m1530, i believe you can't change it.

I Live In Canada And Most Manafacturers Like Alien Ware And HP <(There Good Laptops) Are Processed In The US So Shipping Is A Kick In The A$$ (No Harm)
I Dont Think You Can Customize on the hp website (canadian)

Don’t buy a notebook expecting to upgrade graphics card , it is almost impossible. For one, some of them are built in to the motherboard (like in XPS M1330); even if they are removable, most of the manufacturers don’t have a standardized form factor for mobile graphics cards, therefore you can’t really upgrade (but if you buy a slower card with some particular notebook which also has a better option , then you can later upgrade to the better option , but other than that NO)
There is however a standardized interface/form factor called MXM, but only few manufacturers use it without customizing. -
