I recently received a replacement m1530 from Dell. My original came with a samsung spinpoint mp2 250GB 7200 Rpm. The replacement drive is annotated as follows:

    1 K850F HD,250GB,FFS,9.5,7.2K,SGT-CAS

What I've been able to dig up is that this is a 250GB seagate casey 7200 with free fall sensor. Try as I might I can't find any info on a 250GB seagate casey... I just keep running into 320GB 7200 RPM casey's.

I'd like to keep the better performing/quieter drive etc... but I can't find any info on the seagate.

    Any input would be appreciated

they are both going to be about the same, and they are both very good (from personal experience samsung's are quieter and use a little less power, and seagate's are a bit faster)
