Hey all. Just thought I'd share my custom made laptop cooler. If anyone else has made a specific one for their XPS lets see it and share design. I am by no means artistic, as you can see some of my workmanship is pretty crappy lol I did enjoy building it and it works awesome when I play COD so thats all that mattered to me. Plus I hated the USB one's.

the xps 16 sits perfectly on it, fan blows right onto the hottest spots.

    XPS 1640.
    Total cost on build: 45.00ish

Looks like a fun little project, but the big question is how much does it lower temperatures?

Honestly i'm not sure lol I do notice my internal fans doesn't kick on as often and I get a better FPS when/if i play games on it. This thing gets extremely hot and it definitely helps which was my only concern.

You should offer to make more and sell them to other XPSers!

Indeed it looks good. a good weekend side project would be to add some LED lights to it. preferably white and blue LEDs, to match the SXPS 16's own lights :)

thanks guys. I WAS thinking of making another one with better material and craftsmanship. Then throw it on ebay to see what it would go for. The LED thing is a good idea!
