Everything was working well with this until now;
When trying to use this software to log me into Hotmail, it does not activate and log me in. It is as if it is not even installed on the laptop and I need to log in the normal way prior to having Fast Access software. Other web sites are still able to be accessed using this software other than this one, that I'm aware of so far.
Any idea why one website does not work while others do? I have since deleted my temp files and Temp Internet Files, but that did not help.
Thanks

The software has to parse the page to find form elements that look like user id and password. The long and short of it is that it either doesn't know there's a form or doesn't think it looks like a password form. I'd submit a support request and ask about the site. They're good about replying, and I'm sure they want to make it work as broadly as possible.

Thank you for the good question TaiBo and for the excellent response DakkonA. You are quite correct regarding how FastAccess works and also correct that we are continually updating FastAccess to make it work on as many websites and in as many browsers as possible. As you can imagine, sometimes this goal is a moving target.
TaiBo - what version of FastAccess are you using? We tested Hotmail and the good news is that version 3.X should have no problem the site. The update from FastAccess 2.X to 3.X should be available in the next 2 weeks or so if 2.X is what you're running currently.
Let me know if there's anything else that I can do to assist. -

I'm using version 3.0.86
What "Update" are you refering to when there is already 3.0.86 in use?
The weird thing is, I was using it with Hotmail from the first day I owned the L702X until just then. Although, during that time, I did need to click on " Sign in with a different Windows Live ID" before it loaded with FastAccess.
Thanks for any help that you, or anyone else, may be able to provide.
Edit;
I have figured it out!
- I chose the option at the Hotmail login to "Forget this user" by clicking on the X next to my user name.
- I deleted the Hotmail from the Favorites folder.
- I deleted all of the temp files and Temp Internet files (again).
- I went to Sign In, entered my login name and password.
- Bingo! FastAccess asked me if I wanted to save the loging info etc.
Ever since, all I need to do is click once on my newly created Hotmail entry in the Favorites folder and FastAccess loads the website.
I'm not sure if just one or two of my listed steps fixed my problem or if all of them needed to be done, but it is working now!
Interesting side note; I no longer need to click on " Sign in with a different Windows Live ID" before FastAccess will log me in. Also, the pathway in the address bar is different; it no longer shows my unique user ID number. Weird! -
Just FYI, if you purchased FastAccess from Sensible Vision, the current version is 3.1.39. You can download the update installer from our website. If you purchased from Logitech then an update will be coming out for you soon. -

Any update on when the 2.x to 3.x update will be available, and how to get it?
Thanks -

It's released! Dell 2.X users should get automatic notification soon, but if you don't want to wait just open FastAccess and go to Advanced > "Check For updates".
-
Interesting.. Just installed, but it went from version 2.4.95 to 2.4.97 on my Studio XPS 1645.
-
I read that it now has;
■Chrome Browser support
■Improved recognition - be recognized more often and in more varied lighting
■Enhanced photo & video rejection
■FaceBright - turns your screen into a video light
■EcoAware - save energy and extend battery life with real-time face tracking
I don't think my new version has EcoAware though.
Thanks -
-
You definitely should have EcoAware - check the FastAccess management console for the new "EcoAware" tab along the top. Note that it won't activate until you step away from the computer for the first time for at least 90 seconds and then return. At that point you'll see a message suggesting that you might want to use EcoAware. -
Any way of getting to install?
Thanks
Edit;
Could it be that I have the Dell Power Options set to "High Performance"?
Thanks -
-
At least now, we know that we will not be able to have both the higher performance settings and EcoAware running at the same time.
Thanks for your help getting this figured out. -
EcoAware / PowerSmart should work just fine unless you've manually selected "Power Saver" mode specifically. In other words you should be able to use High Performance and EcoAware together if you wish. EcoAware will move the PC back and forth between the mode that you've selected and Power Saver mode when your face is and is not in view of the camera respectively. -
With PowerSmart on, the screen dims, etc. as I set them to in PowerSmart's Custom mode.
With PowerSmart on, FAService.exe uses a tiny bit of CPU. I'd like to have FastAccess on in Face Login mode and PowerSmart off, and have my Windows power management settings enabled. That doesn't seem possible at the moment. -
1. Use PowerSmart. This would be my recommendation since it's a lot more flexible, functional and will save more power than the Windows power schemes to begin with. If you want to make more advanced power tweaks, you can still make them - just do it in the "Power Saver" plan and those advanced settings will take effect when your face leaves view of the camera (just don't directly touch the timers for screen dim, screen off or sleep...those are being controlled by PowerSmart through the FastAccess GUI).
2. Call or email me directly. If you still want to use the older Windows power schemes directly I can help help you to examine them further if we're emailing back and forth (diagnostics and such). Of course we can share what we learn here. -
Perhaps a re-install of FastAccess would fix your problem. -
Thanks again -
What happens if I adjust the Windows Power Management options separately from EcoAware / PowerSmart? -
Have not tried uninstalling/reinstalling yet. Will do so later if needed...
Thanks! -
-
Just so happens I think I figured out what's causing the conflict. I had my Windows screensaver set to None. Set that way, and with FA on and PowerSmart off, the screen won't dim or turn off as set to in Windows, but the computer will go to sleep if set to. With a screensaver on/chosen and FA on and PS off, my Windows power management settings now work as they should. I did not re-install FA.
Is this a bug or expected behavior?
Thanks again. -
I don't believe that that's expected behavior, but I'll need to do some extra checking and I appreciate having that additional detail. I'll see about running some tests internally but I'm very glad to hear that you have it working well in the meantime. Thanks again.

Thanks.
Interested in seeing if you find anything...
