Well i have this hot running xps 15,,and i wanted to remove that black net filter on the insides of that bottom cover!( i dont know what its called),
The bottom cover whcih exposes the ram, also exposes a part of heatsink,,so do you think it will be a good idea to remove that for a better airflow :D ??
    Cheers!

I removed them on my xps 14. But I did it when I was repasting so I don't know if it helped the temp.

No harm removing them, though. It's not like you will ever use your xps on a dirty ground full of small particles.

I removed the black filter that covers the air intake (the smaller hole), as the pores were too big to stop any dust from coming in, they would really only stop bigger stuff like insects and large particles, in my room its clean enough I didn't have to worry about it being removed.

I doubt it's gonna help much with the temp. But you could always try it, since it's pretty much harmless, and report if it helped or not.

Lots of us with the SXPS 16 removed it. It helps temps quite a bit, ~4C or so. You still need to dust out your fan once in a while, with or without filter, so unless you have a lot of larger particles like pet hair or something everywhere, there's no need to keep it.
