Shipped in Carrying Sleeve

Are all of the XPS Notebooks still shipped in the carrying sleeve ? I'm trying to find out mine was supposed to have one or not, and I'm not having any luck finding a part number. Any help would be nice, Thanks

 

All XPS notebooks in the US are. Not sure about other countries. Where are you located?

 

The part number for the carrying sleeve, headphones, cleaning cloth, etc. was never shown on my list of parts for XPS M1530. However, they still came with mine. You should get all these things in the US, although in other countries it seems hit or miss.

 

I'm in the US and didnt get it, and according to them im crazy and there is no such thing.

 

Just a data point but the 2 I recently received from the outlet were NOT in the carrying sleeve.

When I received mine back in Jan. it was shipped in the sleeve..And that sleeve work's out pretty nice, I must say (outside of my Messenger bag)

I am in the US, and where you are...it may be different..as the OP's said.

 

I believe that the item number for the kit is KW508. That is what is shown on mine, it includes the binder and other things. Hope that helps.

 

Did you order yours brand new or did you get it through the outlet?

If you got it brand new from Dell's Home website you should have gotten it. Not sure about Dell's Small Biz website, but I'd imagine you'd get it there too. Anyone ever order a XPS M1330/M1530 from the Small biz site?

Did you get the earbuds, cleaning cloth, or leather binder? You should have gotten these too if you got yours new. Also you should have received a IR remote control.

 

also just to confirm, i also ordered from the outlet and get everything but the carrying sleeve, which is the one thing i really wanted.

 

I was told the Travel remote is optional as well.

 

Let me clarify. I got the sleeves but the laptops were not in the sleeves.

New Order from 6/18 destined for USA. Sleeve was included. Lappie was inside sleeve and stowed in the packing pieces.

Binder, ear buds, cleaning cloth, etc. also included.

 

Ditto on the Alpine White unit I purchased for the wife back in Feb.

The Creative buds are actually a nice set.

Was it new? I know some refurbs might come with missing thing.

I also read a thread about someone who called Dell to ask, and were told they are promotional items, and not everyone gets them.

I am not sure what are the kinds of bluetooth headphones

I know thes things: it will help me get wireless music from my laptop and my cell too (ADPI), it has a very limited range prob within 1 room, it costs around 3000 INR, the looks are quite good

 

Got my 1330 two weeks ago. Wasn't shipped in the sleeve, but was included along with the travel remote. This was from the US outlet.

 

Its really all up in the air with refurbs. Usually they come with Sleeves, though the remote is more often than not, absent from refurbs. Shame on the ones who had the laptop before you and didn't return the sleeve or remote!

 

You should complain to dell because the remote is shown in the pictures on the XPS m1530 page, and there's no option to add it to the computer. It gives you the assumption (the correct assumption) that the computer is supposed to come with the remote.

 

I got mine from the outlet and it came with all accessories. Laptop was not inside the sleeve.

 

I am from Barbados and mine came with the carrying case, travel remote, binder and the headphones.

 

So, it looks like most get the accessories, and some don't.
I still feel that Dell should ship them with all notebooks, regardless of how / where ordered.

uk gets sleeve only

 

I received my M1530 yesterday (6/30/2008). I got everything. Sleeve, cloth, earbuds, documentation case, reload CD's & DVD's, power supply (which was three prong, not two). Oh yes, and the XPS M1530 as well. Pristine condition. I ordered mine new, though, not refurbed. This was the Father's Day special they ran back on June 8th-11th or so.

 

You wouldn't have a list or part number would you ?

 

This is what was on my order page. There is another physical list under the shipping label, but don't have access to that right now. Of course, the REAL trick is to actually match one of these mythical items to an actual physical item in the box....

(After reading through the list again, though, I'm now pretty pissed. The list shows that I'm supposed to have TWO WUXGA displays and the b*st*rds only sent me one )

That's how it seems to work out.

 

I spoke to alot of people at Dell yesterday, they all said I'm crazy and the sleeve doesn't exist or that its not on my invoice so I they can't ship it. Even after explaining I have another invoice and that system had the sleeve with it, but wasn't listed on the invoice.

The 'sleeve' isn't that great. I wouldn't even call it a 'carrying sleeve'. The cloth is fibers are somewhat abrasive. I used it a couple of times to place it in my backpack (mobile edge) and upon closer examination, the XPS logo (on the wings) has tiny scratches.

Since noticing this, I've ditched the cloth bag and am now on the hunt for a neoprene sleeve - hard to find one that fits... I guess 'The Beast' is just too big... lol

Also need to order the m1730 backpack. I love my MobileEdge backpack, but it is a tight fit when packing up my Logitech Alto combo. *sigh*
