Dell XPS 15 9550 with FHD
I think that's IPS Glow. There is also some light bleed and screen flickering when brightness is at 0%. Also, seems to have more ghosting on the screen than my other laptop. Don't know if that is normal. Should I try exchanging it or are most panels similar?

You can try getting it replaced. But you're going to have a tough time getting it replaced purely on the basis of IPS backlight bleed. You might have a better shot if the screen flickers.
But the last picture looks like a normal IPS screen. You're not going to get super-inky blacks with an IPS screen, like you would from an AMOLED smartphone screen. Any IPS screen you have will have some level of non-black / grey appearance in its black colors, just by nature of the technology. Some people are just more sensitive to it than others. Some people see the slight non-black tinge, and get used to it pretty quickly. Some other people are sensitive to it to the point where it drives them nuts. -
Oh, on a related note... what was your other laptop? Or more accurately, what screen technology did your other laptop screen use (e.g. TN, IPS, VA, etc)? If it used TN, it would explain why the motion on the previous laptop screen looked a bit crisper / faster than an IPS panel.

Other one is a 2013 macbook air. not sure what panel that has

Macbook air should also be an IPS panel.
It's worth a shot of gettign a replacement screen. Might not fix anything. Might make thigns worse. -
I found out that the macbook air used a TN panel. Guess that explains the difference in motion. Only concern is the red hue right now. It only becomes noticeable during boot with the Dell logo or watching a movie with night scenes in a dark room . This is looking directly at the screen. If the viewing angel is off a little, the corners exhibit the the red tint during movies.
Also, with the PM951 NVMe 512GB SSD, is it better to run in ACHI mode or Raid mode? I reformatted in ACHI mode but it has a restart problem where only shutting down the laptop will get it to boot. Thinking about installing it back on raid mode.
Should I Exchange This?
