    Hello,

    Is it true that XPS 1340 has a lot of problems? I was thinking about buying x1340 but many people including this forum are complaining about heat problems, fan noise and other hardware failures. Should I avoid this machine?

    The above thread is so long and difficult to sift through, but should have some info, just requires lots of patience.

    I had one for a week and returned it because of 2 different bad DVD drives. I'm waiting to see if there will be a 1345 model with i5 etc. Then the computer might be a bit better for reliability and battery life. Either that or I'm jumping to Asus when their 13" or 14" lappy hit the market.

    I read through the pages and many people regret buying XPS 1340. It's just too bad. Price and performance is unbeatable but there are just too many problems with this notebook.

    I also hope for a refresh of the Studio XPS 13.. lol.. if its better than the Alienware M11x i'd surely get the SXPS 13 :D
