I have been waiting around on the forum for a laptop for awhile now. At first I wanted the xps 15 but then I heard about the Samsung series 7 that was coming out. I was pretty sure I was going to buy that but the specs are too flaky on it. One website is saying one thing and another website saying another. Then I was checking out the Sony SE. It's light like the samsung but theres no quad core and the GPU kinda sucks. Although its about the same as the 525m. I want to play some games on it. Also I hear the screen is kinda flimsy.

Then fast forward to now and Dell releases the XPS 15 with an upgraded quad core the i7-2670QM. So I'm pretty sure I am going to get this laptop now. It's cheaper than the Sony SE but its heavier for sure. And I dont think the Samsung 7 is ever coming out.

One thing I was kinda looking for was for a laptop to be light but I figure I dont really take my laptop I have now that many places (m1530).

One thing I'm worried about is the 9 cell battery. I dont really need one but it kind of includes it for you instead of the 6 cell. I'm worried about it sticking out and not sitting well on my lap.

heres the specs I'm thinking about buying:

*shrug* looks OK, I have the 17inch version and love it...

can you get the gt540m in the xps15? If so I'd get that

additionally... I also still have the m1530, with the 9 cell battery and yeah, it's not the most comfortable thing to use on your lap but it does increase airflow/cooling when on a desk. If you're really worried about it then try ordering via the telephone and ask for a 6 cell battery instead
