So after doing some research (apparently not enough), I found the m1330 to be exactly what I wanted. Small and light with just enough power to have fun.
I got the nvidia dedicated graphics card with the system and put it on order last week (btw with only 1 year warranty). Ship date is the end of this month.
After searching around though I found out the nvidia has been having really bad issues with their cards which I'm sure you've all been talking about. Should I keep my order an hope Nvidia has a fix for this in time or should I cancel and wait for a while longer?
BTW the new latitude e series has also caught my eye (but it's a bit pricier)

You would have to be very unlucky to have an affected system. Now that the problem is out there you're much more likely to get sympathy from Dell if you did have a problem because this is would be brand new, not months old like other cases.
I wouldn't cancel the order - in all likelihood you'll be fine. If you're really not confident though do what you need to!
Good luck!

i have been having a deciding problem too..
wanting to go for the sager np2092..but with the nvidia card i'm not so sure
but if its what you want go for it! you could also get a cooling pad and a good warranty just in case -
I love my M1330, just make sure you get the 4 year warranty. I've had mine less than a month and I've already had a technician over to replace a motherboard (not because of the nVidia though, there was white noise when using headphones). I have a feeling this isn't my last time having to call a technician.

I would cancel. Unless you like seeing your Dell tech a lot. Why buy a flawed machine that will let you down? I have used Dell for critical work since 2000. I have upgraded 3 desktops and 3 laptops in that period. The XPS 1330 is nice when it works. But make sure you keep a spare laptop because of the downtime.
I've had the M1330 for a couple of months:
1) DVD drive died. This is a documented problem.
2) Motherboard died.
3) HDD is whining.
4) My palms are very hot because of the NVIDIA chip problem. I'm not even gaming! -
What if u dont get the Nvidia chip, still worth getting the laptop? I really really like it.

I do want to do a bit of gaming (not a whole lot) and the dedicated graphics card is one of the reason I went with the M1330 in the first place.
I think I will cancel this order cuz if I add on the warranty it puts it near the price range of the precision m2400, and latitude e series.
I dunno, I am worried the whole NVIDIA faulty chip discovery and I don't want to deal with Dell trying to give me crap about it. (though I've never actually bout a laptop from dell). -
after seeing Latitude e series i too go confused. but it's expensive. and so far XPS M1330 is good for us (T9300 processor). we really don't need to cancel... wait for the system. if anything goes wrong we can refund our money with in 30 days
All the best for your system
Should I cancel my m1330 order
