I have a new XPS M1330 on the way. I originally purchased a refurb. M1330 and had a few issues with it and dell agreed to build me a new(non refurb) one with same specs. (crimson,T9500,LED display,4GB's ram, vista ultimate etc.). In the meantime my company has ordered us new latitudes and I don't really see need to keep the new 1330. My question is, when it arrives should I not even open it and sell it either here or E-bay and my second question would be how much could I expect to sell it for ?

    Thanks in advance,
    Ljay

Return it for a full refund. Selling it won't get you as much as a refund will.

thanks Hep, That sounds like a good idea, I'm just not sure what I could use as a justification for the return at this point since they did ship me a brand new unit. Do you think it could fetch 1,300 being new and unopened ? I would actually just like to move on.

If it's been less than 30 days since you got it, you don't need a reason. They will take it back no questions.
What are the specs? That will influence how much you can get for it, but 1300 might be a bit high (M1330's have been hard sells lately).

If you are still within your return period, you can still return it. Just tell them you found a better unit for your needs.

I am within 30 days, my original invoice is dated 11/05/08. I was under the impression that I only had 21 days for a return. The specs are pretty high I believe: T9500 penryn, 4 gigs ram, vista ultimate, nvidia 128 and LED display.

You might get 1300 or even more if you sell it on ebay AND DO NOT OPEN IT. What warranty do you have?

Expect 1200-1300 with that config on ebay. You could do higher if you had a longer warranty, just be sure to make it clear that the buyer has the option to extend the warranty if they want.
