So I ordered the 9-cell battery for my xps m1530, and I have a few minor gripes about it. 1, since it raises the laptop and has rubber feet on the bottom, if you want to slide your laptop across a desk a little bit it rumbles and jerks its way over. And I slide around my laptop along surfaces a lot :p

2, with the 9-cell battery in, the laptop DOESN'T EVEN FIT IN THE CASE XPS GIVES YOU!! I never imagined the thing would be this obtrusive.

So my question is, if I chose to get the 6-cell for everyday use, how much of a battery life hit would I take? And also, if the 9-cell doesn't fit in the dell/xps laptop sleeve, would a standard laptop bag (slightly bulkier) still fit the laptop or do I have to remove the battery and store it elsewhere every time I want to store it?

Your best bet would be to physically inspect any carrying case before you buy it to ensure the 9cell will fit. Sorry.
