I bought a replacement screen for the XPS14:

The 14.0-inch LG LP140WD1-TLA1 Laptop LCD Screen

Upon installing the new screen (which LOOKED fine), it booted up great- until I saw what appeared to be a hair line type scratch/break underneath the screen on the top right hand. It appears to be almost an inch long. It's very noticeable and completely unacceptable. No dead pixels, though. The screen itself, while I didn't fire it up for very long, looked WAY better than the stock screen.

I purchased the screen from hootoo.com, but they are giving me a total runaround on the RMA process. They are claiming it won't work for our computer, etc. Complete tools, and no one answers their phone line. STAY AWAY from this vendor.

I'm asking anyone who bought the screen, and installed it, where they purchased it.

    Thanks guys,

Okay, I may have spoke too soon regarding HOOTOO

I finally (after about 50 calls) got somebody on the line and they were very helpful. They are going to send me a replacement out now (like I asked).

They also mentioned that dealing with their customer service through email is outsourced to a division in CHINA and can "be difficult" to deal with.

We'll see what kind of condition the screen arrives in...

That's strange as I think 90% of the people who have changed their screens out bought them from HooToo.com and I haven't heard of any major issues. All it comes down to is if the screen was physically damaged when you got it it doesn't matter if the screen works for the XPS 14 or not, there is no way that the laptop itself could crack the screen and I would point that out to them.

Edit: I guess you got your resolution while I was typing :D let us know how it goes.

Yeah... I guess that point (aka, how it was DAMAGED) was lost in translation.... language barrier, perhaps.

    I'll keep it updated.

Yes, sorry, I literally forgot about this thread.

The new one was shipped perfect from HOOTOO.
