Hi guys, i recently discovered the ENB mod made by Boris Vorontsov now works on optimus laptops through using an injector based enb rather than relying on d3d9 files which optimus doesnt like. So i decided to give it a go on skyrim with various effects, now these shots are not my finished impression as i intend to tweak them a lot more, but this is just to generally show what can be achieved with no more than a 5fps loss! Some may not like them, but there are so many possiblilties, you can make the game look how you want!
NOTE, some enb profiles also use the fxaa post processor injector which we cant use as it still relies on d3d9 files.
My Skyrim settings are at 1600x900, on high with aa and af off, fxaa on, shadows on low, and decal on ultra. I force 16x anisotropic filtering through the nvidia control panel as it is better than skyrims and has no fps loss. You can also try ambient occlusion but has about a 20fps through a not much noticeable gain in shadows.
This is with the specs in my sig and the 555m is not overclocked.
Here is the enb main site: ENB main page
The files i used are enb v105 Download the version 103 does also work but has about 10fps loss so 105 is optimised and runs a lot better

The other: Cinematic enb Cinematic Lighting ENB - CLENB - by HD6 at Skyrim Nexus - Skyrim Mods and community
and this is not a enb mod but Realistic lighting mod which can be used in conjunction with enb with no fps loss. Note using these together with default settings makes things look a lot brighter but this can be reduced with tweaking which i have yet to do. What do people think about the shots? What do you prefer best? I still cant decide.
The quality of the screenshots arent as good as in game, they dont do it justice.
I also take no credit for the mods made, that goes to the authors. Im simply showcasing their work and showing what can be achieved on the xps 17.

I actually think the stock is the most realistic looking, with cinematic coming second. Everything else looks way too over-contrasted, and quite frankly, bad.

Yeah it isnt for everyone. It does add a different feel to the game but depends on what you like. For example a lot of people like it as it brings a more fantasy image to the game, depends what your after though.

Have achieved a finished setting which IMO looks better than vannila skyrim.
