Hi guys, firstly skyrim is running great on medium settings, anybody tried the 1.4beta patch yet because i heard that it makes the game run even better. i tried the beta nvidia drivers but they caused a 50% decrease in the fps so i reverted to 286 drivers.i get a solid 60fps pretty much the whole game, any fps drop is not noticable, the distace draw isnt too bad except i can't see a wolf coming if they are far away, but they don't magically appear infront of me or anything. besides that the only downside is the choice of hair for orc females is about 5.
secondly, anybody got tales of symphonia to run on dolphin? no matter what i do i get 45-60fps and without a constant 60 the sound is very very annoying. disappointingly the game runs very similar to that of my old dual core 1.66ghz processor laptop with a 256mb shared vram nvidia geforce go 7400 card that is 6 years old. i had hoped to play this game for about 5 years lol.
my laptop is the dell xps 15 i5 2410m with gt 540m

Just to let you know you can change the viewing distance of pretty much everything in the game, putting the enemies on the furthest distance does nothing to the performance but greatly improves gameplay.
Just make sure that that your Dolphin game is running on the graphics card and not the intel hd graphics, right click desktop and go to the nividia control panel. -
thanks yeah, i'll try that with skyrim.
as for dolphin, i figure its just that game, but i got pcsx2 working just fine with odin sphere at least(i was previously running on intel hd). currently ripping all my ps2 disks, hopefully i can make them look better on my laptop than my ps2 with my crud monitor i was using -
Hello all,
I can run Skyrim on my XPS 17 on high with no AA and I am happy with the performance. I am getting 35 - 50 FPS in Fraps.
My iissue is with the visuals. The colors and some textures just dont look right.
First of all there is a very strong green color. Take a look at the screenshots of me using ice magic which is supposed to look blue.

Even more noticeable on the world map screen which shuold look white.

Colored lighting is way too intense.

I suspect Skyrim is not the issue but that the default settings in the Nvidia control panel are set incorreclty. I dont want to mess around with them myself incase I make things worse. Hopefully somebody here is more knowledgeable about these things.
Any help is appreciated.
edit:
Tested on my 900x600 laptop screen and on a external 1920x1080 HD television connected through HDMI. Native resolutions for both. -
Did you try a different color profile? I know the stock one cools colors down considerably

Nevermind
The more I look at images of Skyrim on Google the more I think the game is probably running the way it is supposed to and it is my expectations that are wrong.
